International Timberframes Inc. is a well established and growing timberframe company specializing in hand-crafted timber structures, from mantelpieces and stairs to entire homes.

We are always looking for skilled people in our shop and operations. If you feel that you have skills that could benefit the type of work we do, we would like to hear from you! The types of positions we occasionally recruit for are CAD Production Designer, Lead Hand Timberframer, Timberframer.

We are currently looking to fill the following positions:

Woodworker/Timberframer

As our company continues to grow, we need to recruit a Timberframer.
The purpose of this role is to undertake Timberframing tasks as part of the team, both on the shop floor and job sites, to exceptional standards.  As we develop our 100% wood DLT product we are keen to develop your skills in mass timber too.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

– Accurate interpretation of shop drawings
– Layout, cutting, sanding, staining, and packaging of wood/materials therefore experienced in working with hand tools eg chisels, saws
– Loading wood/materials/tools for transportation
– Installation / raising under direction of appointed Project leader
– Clean up of shop and job-sites at the end of each day and week
– Shop / tool and machine maintenance as required

Location

This full-time position is based at our shop in Golden, BC. Travel as required in BC and Alberta to client job sites for onsite installation assistance.

Requirements

We would love to hear from you if you can offer us the following skills and experience:

– Previous experience in timber framing or log building (or related experience in carpentry or cabinetry)
Familiarity with timber frame joinery and structural systems
– Need to be physically strong to move heavy timbers and able to work confidently at heights on ladders, scaffolding, and beams
– Ability to work alone on assigned tasks and together as part of a cohesive team
– Demonstrated commitment to exceptional standards of work
– A full clean driving license

Shop Production Lead

This job position is responsible for the management and coordination of the shop crew, materials, tools and equipment.  You will be the interface between Designers / Project Managers and timberframe production.  You will schedule and prioritize projects.  You will lead, manage and develop the shop team.  You will coordinate incoming and outgoing timber deliveries, movement of components within the shop and maintain efficient shop flow.  You will coordinate and organize crew members in the shop and on job-sites.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

– Coordinate and schedule efficient shop flow for all projects from production through delivery and installation
– Create and maintain an organized shop space and lead a productive team
– Uphold accuracy and quality of work performed in the shop
– Manage and performance and development of the shop crew
– Tool and equipment maintenance
– Manage shop supplies and track inventory

Location

  • Flexibility to change plans quickly and juggle multiple tasks
  • Familiarity with timber frame joinery, carpentry and construction

  • Excellent communication and people skills and ability to work collaboratively in teams
  • Demonstrate understanding of health and safety standards
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional standards of work
  • A full clean driving license
  • Canadian Citizen or Valid Work Permit for a minimum of 2 years
